Located in Elyria near the corner of Chestnut Ridge Road and State Route 57, Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home is easy to find for those who will be travelling in from out of town. Our facility offers one of the largest funeral chapels and parking lots in the county with the capacity to comfortably seat over 150 friends and family comfortably during services.
History
With over 10,000 families served throughout the years, Laubenthal Mercado FuneralHome has been a proven and trusted provider of funeral and cremation services. In 1972, Richard “Dick” Laubenthal, also known to the community as, “Digger”, purchased Goldcamp Funeral Home on Washington Ave in Elyria. In 1989, he purchased Wainwright Funeral Home at 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road in Elyria. In 2007, Philip C. Mercado joined the partnership to establish its current name, Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home. Due to demand and to better serve the community, our crematory, Lorain County Cremation Services, LLC, was built directly on the several acre property. It owned and operated by the Laubenthal and Mercado family
