Obituary for Catherine Weishampel Eicholtz

Catherine “Kitty” Weishampel Eicholtz (nee: Heckel) 87, of Amherst passed away Friday October 11, 2019 at Amherst Manor Retirement Community. She was born July 17, 1932 in Elkins, WV. Kitty had worked as a Sanitary Technician and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She treasured spending time with her family, and enjoyed crocheting, reading novels, and watching the Hallmark channel on television. Survivors include a daughter; Lori Hess of Avon, seven sons; Robert Weishampel (Abada) of the United Kingdom, Thomas Weishampel (Donna) of Washington, Joe Weishampel (Kathy) of Cuyahoga Falls, James Weishampel (Rita) of Amherst, William Weishampel (Jan) of Naples, FL., Martin Weishampel (Rhonda) of Toledo, Patrick Weishampel (Kerry) of Toledo. Additional survivors include numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, four sisters, and four brothers. Kitty was preceded in death by husbands; Robert E. Weishampel and Detmer “Ike” Eicholtz, her parents; Rudolph and Hilda (nee: Chenoweth) Heckel, and a sister. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Sunday October 13, 2019 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where closing prayers will be recited at 10:00 AM on Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday October 14, 2019 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria where The Reverend Father Albert Veigas, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria. Memorial contributions in Kitty’s memory can be sent to Catholic Charities 7911 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44102.
