Shirley J. Kelling, age 81, passed away peacefully after a long-term illness. She was born on June 23, 1944, in Lorain, Ohio, to Joseph and Josephine (Grasso) Fogo.

Shirley was a proud graduate of Admiral King High School and went on to further her education at Lorain Business School and Lorain County Community College. She later earned her Certified Medical Manager (CMM) designation. Throughout her career, she served with dedication and compassion as the Office Manager for Rogener B. Lacerna, MD, in Elyria, and Stanley Lunas, MD, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Her professionalism, warmth, and steady leadership positively impacted colleagues and patients alike.

Shirley shared fifty wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Keith R. Kelling, building a life centered on family, love, and faith. She is survived by her children, Shelly (Youssef) Benhaddouche, Keith Richard (Vickie) Kelling, and Susan (Allen) Earl.

She was a devoted grandmother to Ameer, Faris, Ameena, and Salma Benhaddouche; Mathew Kelling; and Austin, Heidi, and Holly Earl. Shirley was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, who brought her immense joy.

Shirley's legacy is one of kindness, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4 p.m - 6 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
