Rita Simona (Vasil) Charlton

Rita S. Charlton, (nee-Vasil), 80, of Grafton passed away Thursday May 4, 2023 at the Elyria Wesleyan Village following a long illness. She was born November 18, 1942 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was a Grafton resident for most of her life. Rita worked as a sales coordinator at the Invacare Corporation, following which she worked at Lorain County Community College where she retired as an academic advisor. She enjoyed spending time with family and sewing. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ronald Charlton Sr.; daughters, Lisa Charlton and Amy (Chris) Howell; son, Ronald (Christine) Charlton Jr.; 3 grandchildren and a sister, Alicia Gregor. The family will receive friends on Thursday 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday May 19, 2023 in the funeral home. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria will Officiate. Burial will follow at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzhiemer’s Association P.O. Box 74924 Cleveland, OH. 44194-4924.
