Paul W. Wakefield

Paul W. Wakefield, 69, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, 2023. Paul was born on July 25, 1954 in Elyria. He was a graduate of Midview High School class of ‘72 and of LCCC with an Associate’s degree in Electronics. He owned and operated All-In-One Plumbing and retired from the Cleveland Metroparks in 2021 as a Senior Technician-Master Plumber. He was a member of the Grafton VFW Post 3341 and the LaGrange Community Band. Paul enjoyed playing golf and his saxophone, watching the Cleveland Browns, the Grafia and being in the outdoors. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Vicki (nee: Hollings); mother, Donna (nee: Burrer); daughter, Amy Wakefield (Andy Brown); son, Richard (Emily); brothers, Mark (Judy) ,Dave (Kristi) and sister, Ann Marie Miller (Larry); brother-in-law, Michael (Shirley) Hollings. He is preceded in death by his father, Dale. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 3 PM – 7 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd (at State RT 57) in Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St. Grafton, OH 44044 at 11 AM (please meet at church). Rev. Fr. John Seabold will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s name can be made to the Grafton Veterans Memorial at the VFW 3341 or Our Lady Queen of Peace. Online condolences may be made at www.laubenthalmercado.com.
