Molly A. (Weil) Szabo

Molly A. Szabo (nee: Weil) 81, of Hallandale Beach, Florida, formerly of Elyria passed away at Orlando Lutheran Towers on Saturday August 19, 2023 following a long battle with cancer. She was born October 21, 1941 in Manhattan, NY. She met her husband; Bob in Alabama. They moved from Cleveland to Elyria where they raised their six children.  Molly moved to Hallandale, Florida after her husband’s passing in 2004. She had a passion for her family, and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on family visits, going to shows, trips to the casinos and beaches. Molly worked as a hostess at Grassie's Wayside Inn in Elyria for 25 years. She had a special relationship with every one of her family members, always remembering birthdays, and a special gift bag for each special occasion or visit. Survivors include her children; Deborah Piasecki (Nelson Cook), Frank Szabo (Deborah Schroeder), Mike Szabo, Steve Szabo (Diana), Robert Szabo (Ronette), Linda Minnehan (Shawn).  Additional survivors include her grandchildren; Nick Piasecki (Megan), Brett Piasecki (Jen), Megan Piasecki (Ricardo), Jayden Waters, Jacob Szabo (Kayla), Crystal Zumwalt (Mac), Rob Szabo, Rachel Szabo, Alex Alonge, great grandchildren; Lofton, Asher, Myles, Mackenna, Molly, Alaina, Parker, a sister; Teresa Ferrier, and a sister-in-law; Virginia Cantwell.  Molly was preceded in death by her husband; Robert, and her parents; Louis and Ann (nee: Eisenberg) Weil. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday September 20, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria, Ohio (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM immediately following visitation.  Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday September 21, 2023 at Holy Cross Cemetery 14609 Brookpark Rd.
