Mary Ellen Seres, 75, of North Royalton, a devout daughter, school teacher, and receptionist passed away unexpectedly on Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. Born in Elyria, she was a Lorain County resident for most of her life. Mary Ellen was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and Bowling Green State University. She taught 4th grade at St. Agnes School in Elyria and then worked as a receptionist at Vatterott College in Broadview Heights. For over twenty years she tended to her mother Evelyn, who suffered from Parkinson’s Disease. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed collecting clowns, traveling and sunbathing. She will be missed by all as a kind, loving and independent soul. Survivors include her sister, Teresa (David) Reeves; brothers, Frank Seres, Daniel (Debra) Seres and Michael (Pamela) Seres; long time companion, Donald Dignan; she was an aunt 17 times over, a great-aunt 23 times over and a great-great aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn (nee-Blume), Seres and brothers, James, John, Thomas and Joseph. The family will receive friends on Friday March 17, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton will Officiate. Private burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton.
