Joseph R. “Dick” Eyring, 91, of Grafton passed away Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Avon Place following a brief illness. He was born January 30, 1931 in Cleveland and has been a Grafton resident since 1939. Dick worked as an Independent Distributer for British Petroleum in North Eaton for 23 years, retiring in 1998. He also owned an Independent Creamery Transport for Dairymen’s and also Oberlin Farms Dairy. Dick was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grafton, served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean Conflict, being discharged on July 4th, 1953 and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3341 in Grafton. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, traveling and spending time with family. Survivors include his daughter, Pat Osborne; son, Dean (Venita) Eyring; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don and Tom Eyring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive (nee-Harper) ,daughter, Peggy Jo Eyring, sons, Daniel and David Eyring, granddaughter, Theresa Eyring and brothers, Bob and Bill Eyring. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Sunday January 29, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton will Officiate. Burial will be private.
