Jerry Wayne Huntley

Jerry W. Huntley, 62, of Grafton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 14, 2024 after a long illness. He was born on February 27, 1962 to parents Jerry A. and Lida B. (nee: Knapp) in Seagraves, Texas. Jerry proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Navy. He lived in San Francisco for a few years before moving back to Ohio where he started work as a front end cashier for 10 years at Walmart.  His beloved colleagues referred to him as “Jerbear.” He had a passion for photography, especially in San Francisco. He will be remembered for his outgoing sense of humor, generosity, and being very close with his family. He is survived by his mother; sisters, Deborah (Bill) Mers and Laura (Larry) Hrabnicky; nephews, Steven and Scott Mers; nieces, Sara (Noah) Rogers; grand-nieces, Edythe and Esme Rogers. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Solid Rock Community Church 680 North Abbe Road in Elyria. Pastor Kevin Coleman will officiate. A private burial will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a later date.
