Jeremy J. Shay

Jeremy J. Shay, 51, of New London, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 30, 1972. He worked at USS Steel in Lorain for 25 years and Swagelok Company for the past few years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting. Jeremy was loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his mother, Marlene Shay (nee: Olah) (Tim); devoted father of Alex (Kayla) and Aaron Shay; sisters, Kim Messer, Sheri (Tim) Shay-Buchanan, and Melissa Shay; brother, Dennis (Pam) Shay; nieces, Alicia, Amanda and Christie; nephew, Matthew; and his girlfriend (Guardian Angel), Dawn. Jeremy played bass in his bands Ground Zero and Monster Island. He loved his exotic pets and all of his four foots. He will be sadly missed by his little tick, Jiggy. A Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeremy’s name can be sent to the Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
