Janet Marie (Wottring) Zacharias

Janet M. Zacharias, (nee-Wottring), 86, of Elyria Township passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday March 11, 2023. She was born July 18, 1936 in North Olmsted and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Janet worked for 20 years at Lorain County Human Services, retiring as a case worker. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and worked for many years at both the A&P and Meyer Goldberg grocery stores. Following retirement, she continued to work for the Lorain County Office on Aging. Survivors include her daughters, Leslie (Gary) Spencer and Molly (Rick) Rinaldi; sons, Tim Zacharias, Tom (Liz) Zacharias and Mike Zacharias; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and her beloved canine companion "Zoey". She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2006 and a grandson, Donald in 2012. The family will receive friends Thursday March 16, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 17, 2023 at St. Vincent DePaul Church 41295 North Ridge Rd., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Neil Walters will be the Celebrant. Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Church.
