James Franklin Woods

James Franklin Woods 89, of Elyria passed away Friday September 16, 2022 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake,OH.  He was born March 25, 1933 in St. Abans, WV.    Survivors include a daughter; Joyce Rosenau (Mark), a son; Jim Woods (Ruth). Additional survivors include six grandchildren; James, Joanna, Caleb, Luke, Hanna, Noah and 5 great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years; JoAnn (nee: White), a daughter; Jean Helmling, a grandson; Charlie Helmling, a great grandson C.J. Helmling his parents; Walter and Nora (nee: Henretty) Woods, and his siblings Joseph, John, Lulabelle, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Jack, Jerry, Fred, Bill and Charles, and cousin Albert. James was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church.

He retired from General Motors as a Journeyman Pipefitter Welder.

A Celebration of James’ life will be held 12:00 noon on Friday September 23, 2022 at Abbe Road Baptist Church  670 Abbe Rd. Elyria, OH 44035. A private family gathering will follow. Pastor Cal Searles will officiate.  Burial will be private. Funeral services were entrusted to The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria (440)322-4626.
