James Paul Rodgers

James Paul Rodgers, 69, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday April 30, 2023. He was born March 20, 1954 in Elyria. James worked and retired in sales from Western Southern Life Insurance Company. He was a 1972 Elyria High School graduate participating on the baseball team. James enjoyed his time with many friends from the American Legion Post #12 in Elyria. James was an avid music and sports fan cheering on The Steelers, Cavs, and Indians. When not cheering for his favorite teams James was golfing or watching golf tournaments on the television.

He is survived by two daughters; Laura Kincaid (Dale) of Medina, OH; Victoria Rodgers of Huntington Beach, CA. Additional survivors include his sister, Polly Rodgers (Frank Szabo) of Elyria, OH; and his brother, David Rodgers (Lennie) of Reno, NV; Also surviving James are his nephew, Matthew Rodgers (Caroline) of San Diego, CA; his uncle and aunt, Joe and Beth Rodgers and cousins of Elyria, OH; and his uncle, Frank Constantino and cousins of Lorain, OH.

James was preceded in death by both of his parents, Paul and Arlene Rodgers of Elyria, OH and aunt Beverly Constantino of Lorain, OH.

A Celebration of James’ life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday May 18, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440) 322-4626.
