Immacolata "Meca" (Sansotta) D'Agostino

Immacolata “Meca” D’Agostino, (nee-Sansotta), 78, of Elyria passed away Saturday August 5, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital Following a long illness.She was born April 15, 1945 in Locri, Italy and has been an Elyria resident since 1968, coming from Calabria, Italy. Meca was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, jazzercise and family time. Survivors include her daughter, Kathie D’Agostino; son, Robert (Crystal) D’Agostino; grandchildren, Justin, Alexa, Gabriella and Genevieve. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro “Peter”, sister, Rosa, and brothers, Salvatore, Antonio, Domenico, Vincenzo, Cosimo and Leonardo. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday August 11, 2023 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 12, 2023 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. Please meet at church. The Rev. Father Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
