Dennis J. Sniezek, 73, of Elyria, passed away on January 9, 2023 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain surrounded by his loving family and loving wife. He was born on October 26, 1949 in Elyria to parents Carl and Anne (nee: Wnek). Dennis was a 1967 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School and later received his Associates Degree from LCCC. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. Dennis spent his career as a designer engineer, with his first employment at Nordson and most recent employment at U.S. Steel Lorain Tubular. Dennis holds numerous patents, some which are used all over the world. He was a member of the 3rd Gen f-body Group of Ohio ,Cursillo, Singing Seniors, and sang in many catholic choirs with the last being St Mary’s and a lifelong member of the Polish Club in Elyria. Dennis loved to sing, and if you knew him, you were serenaded. He and his wife were also members of the Republican Party. We can’t forget his love for Cleveland sports and car racing, Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Miller of Amherst; daughters, Audrey, Nichole (Josue) Sniezek- Rodriguez, Stephanie; son, Douglas; sisters, Karen (Larry) Viterna; brother, Paul (Donna); grandchildren, Gabriel (Nikki) Alexander, Dylan, Daniel, David, Victoria; and great-granddaughter, Lisanna. He also is leaving behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends and neighbors. We can’t forget to mention the daughter of his first kiss in grade school his niece by marriage, Dr Nancy Felty McKinney of Massachusetts. He is preceded in death by his sister, Janet; grandson, Joshua, and his Cuzbro Richard (Zorro) Zelinsky. Visitation will be held at the St. Mary Church Weigand Room 320 Middle Ave, Elyria on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. – noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Mary Church with a reception after in the Weigand room. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria on July 7, 2023; his 5th wedding anniversary. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Church in care of their music program.
