Obituary

 

Daniel Lee Billman, 80, of Elyria, passed away at home with his loving family and dog by his side on June 14, 2022. Dan was born September 30, 1941. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1959 and later worked as a Director for Lorain County Solid Waste. He owned Elyria Auto Service and J+J Trucking for over 30 years combined. Dan was a member of FOP A Lodge 98 and was a recipient of the 2010 Solid Waste Professional award from the State of Ohio. Survivors include his wife of nearly 44 years, Carol (nee Faight); son, Matthew of Elyria; daughter, Dana (Tom) Kohlmann of Michigan; grandchildren, Tyler (Brandy) Billman, Ciara Billman, Elliot Canter, Drew, Tyler, Kelsey, Brady Kohlman; great-grandchildren, Damion and Kirra Billman; sisters, Barbara Becker, Betty (Sid) Felton, Judi (Ken) Hall, Louise Kostecki, and many nieces and nephews. Dan is preceded in death by his parents Myron (Ruth) Billman and granddaughter Molly Canter. Family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2022 10 AM to Noon at Christ Church 1420 S Abbe Road in Elyria with a Funeral Service to follow at Noon. In Lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. Burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria.
