Brent Thomas Binkley

Brent Thomas Binkley, 60, of Elyria passed away peacefully on Saturday October 14, 2023 while under hospice care at the Woods of French Creek in Avon following a hard fought battle with brain cancer. He will be sadly missed by so many. Brent was blessed with two amazing children, Tabitha Nicole Binkley (21) and Thomas Cole Binkley (25) both of Elyria who were devoted caretakers of their Dad, rarely leaving his side. Brent is also survived by his loving parents, Thomas Elton Binkley and Linda Chloe Binkley who have resided in Southport, NC. For the past 6 years; sister, Brenda Binkley and niece, Katie Anderson also of Southport, NC.. Brent was born July 9, 1963 in Bowling Green OH. and was raised in Elyria. A 1981 Elyria High School graduate, he was a member of the last undefeated Elyria High Football team, which was inducted into the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and a Masters degree from Ashland University. He spent most of his professional career in banking and finance. Riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle was one of his favorite things to do, as well as enjoying a good cigar. A memorial visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m. Friday October 20, 2023 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A time of sharing will begin at 4:00 p.m.. Please join his family following visitation at Wolfey’s Pub in Elyria for a celebration of Brent’s life.
