William "Bill" T. Schreiber 91, of Lorain passed away Sunday July 22, 2012 at Metro General Hospital in Cleveland following a brief illness. He was born January 15, 1921 in Louisville, KY. Bill had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America for over seventy five years, and was a professional Scouter for over thirty years. Bill took great pride in mentoring young men. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria. Bill enjoyed writing, and was an avid reader who read two newspapers every day. He also enjoyed retirement in Las Vegas for over twenty five years. Survivors include two daughters; Kathleen M. Schreiber of KS, Mary Ellen Shoemaker (Frank Santoro) of Elyria, a son; Kenneth C. of OR, additional survivors include four grandchildren; Howard Lynch (Bonnie), Sam, Katie and Casey Schreiber, a sister; Bernice Schlagel of Louisville, KY, and three great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of fifty six years; Catherine, a son; William H. (Sally), and his parents; William and Katherine (nee: Muckeleauer) Schreiber. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Wednesday until time of services. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, Pastor of St. Agnes Church will officiate. V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home following memorial services. Burial will be private.
