William D. Sayles, 82, of Grafton passed away Thursday at his home following a brief illness. He was born August 8, 1929 in Grafton and was a lifelong Grafton resident. Bill worked for 33 years as a supervisor at the former Tappan Co. in Elyria and retired from the General Plug Co. in Grafton. He was a member of the Grafton United Methodist Church, the Elyria Men's Senior Fellowship and the Friends of Corvair Car Club. He was also a past president of the Grafton Village Council of which he served for many years. Survivors include his wife Ruth (nee-Hildebrandt); daughter, Martha (Donny) Reisz of Grafton; son, David (Debra) Sayles of Grafton; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Dove in 1989, sister, Lois McMahon, brothers, Leslie and Leonard Sayles. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev.
