William James Ryals,89, of Elyria, Ohio passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 of Congestive Heart Failure, at his Florida home in Bonita Springs with loving family close by. Mr. Ryals was born December 20, 1928 in Elyria, Ohio, the only child of Janet Taggart Ryals and Corning DeForthes Ryals. Bill was married 66 years to his wife Eleanor Rose Ryals who preceded him in death three years ago. Bill is survived by four of his living children, Richard wife Sue, grandson Dan, granddaughter Laura Davis, husband Dustin Davis and great grandchild Lincoln, daughter Barbara Paesano husband John Paesano, grandchildren Trevor Cromar, Kyle Cromar, and wife Angela and great granddaughter Maria, and Mark Cromar, wife Stefanie, and great granddaughter Penelope. Daughter Virginia Berk, husband Jay Berk and daughter Lauren, and son William Jr., deceased son Douglas and his daughters, Calli Ryals, Tara Thompson, and husband Jack Thompson and their two sons Ryals and Rex. Bill was a graduate of Elyria High School and attended Bowling Green University. Bill was a self employed general contractor of Ryals Construction Company for 65 years and a member of The Lorain County Builders Association (President 1962). Bill was a member of the Elyria Elks Club, the Elyria Masons, Harmon Lodge #663-32 Scottish Rite, The Elyria First Congregational Church, and the Vermilion Boat Club. Bill and his wife Eleanor enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing, sailing and enjoying time with their family. A Celebration of Life will be held 2-5 PM May 6, 2018 at the Vermilion Boat Club 5416 Liberty Ave. Vermilion, Ohio 44089.
