William Charles Parmenter Sr., 81, of Elyria passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1936 in Fostoria,OH. William worked for Parma Chevy plant in assembly, prior to Chevy he worked at Fisher Guide in Elyria for 27 years. William proudly served in the Army National Guard Ohio 357th Ordinance Co. from 1957-1968, he was on active duty during the Berlin Crisis from 1961-62, and he obtained the rank of S/Sgt. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Eleanor "Ellie" (nee Attkisson); daughters Diane Parmenter of Bradenton, FL. And Amy (Scott) Eichenberg of Columbia Station; grandchildren Nicholas and Sarah, nephews William, Tom and James Marcum. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Violet (Nee Chaney); son William Jr. in 1962, sisters Burdeen Marcum and Dorothy Allen. There will be no visitation or services. Private graveside will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William's name to Crossroads Hospice 9775 Rockside Rd. #270 Valley View, Ohio 44125.
