William Louis Lockhart Sr. "Louis", 70, passed away peacefully in the home he built, surrounded by his 3 children and wife after a lengthy illness that he fought so hard to overcome. After retiring in 2003, his world was all about his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and there was nothing he wouldn't have done for them. He enjoyed fishing, sports, gardening and free speech. Fair politics was part of his everyday thinking .... He dreamed of making this world a better place for ALL to live. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (nee Lucia) ; son, William Louis Lockhart Jr. (Bobbie); 2 daughters, Sarah Kobulnicky (Scott), and Emily Lockhart; 3 grandchildren, Lexi DeLeon, William "Liam" Lockhart III and Alison Hope Kobulnicky; mother Virginia Maude Swart (nee Greathouse); brothers, Charles Lockhart (Waneta), Greg Lockhart (Sandy), Marshall Lockhart (Rose) and Mark Lockhart (Teresa); sisters, Geneva Metz (Dan), Teresa Lockhart, and Dinah Jewell (James) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Roland Lockhart and beloved stepfather Wilford "Papaw" Swart. A memorial service will be 11 AM-1PM Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria, 440-322-4626, followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon at 1:30 PM at Tom's Country Place 3442 Stoney Ridge Rd. Avon, OH. 44011.
