Obituary

William M. Kelley Jr. 78, of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013 at the Lifecare Center of Elyria following a long illness. He was born November 24, 1934 in Wayland, OH. And was a Elyria resident for most of his life, coming from Wellington. Bill worked as a machinist at the former General Motors Fisher Guide plant in Elyria for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, was a United States Army veteran and enjoyed music, nature, reading and sports. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who taught by example. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy (nee-DeWitt); sons, Michael (Kimberly) Kelley of Louisville, KY., and James (Kimberly) Kelley of New Washington, OH.; 6 grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Winkler of Kent, OH., Gloria Rodenbucher of Atwater, OH., and Kathleen Cruise of Alliance, OH.. The family will receive friends Sunday 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Christian Burial Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenwich, OH. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lifecare Center of Elyria activities department 1212 South Abbe Rd., Elyria, or to the donor's choice.
