William (Bill) "Abe" Lowery 77 of Elyria passed away Sunday January 10, 2016 at Northridge Health Center in North Ridgeville following a lengthy illness. He was born September 17 , 1938 in Elyria. William worked for Ford Motor Co.for 26 yrs. until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the National street Rod Association and the Elyria Moose Lodge. William enjoyed working on cars , family gatherings , outdoors , gardening , spending time at his cottage on Sandusky Bay , and had a great Love for his family. Survivors include his wife of 50 yrs. Thelma (nee Webber) , daughter Susan (Lee) Brown of West Salem , sons Ronald (Shawna) of Oberlin , Raymond (Jenny) of Wellington , sisters Geraldine Nichols of Mt. Vernon , Judith (Joe) Foelinger of Columbia, Pa. , brothers Eugene (Mary) of Elyria , Gerald (Sandy) of Elyria , Frank (Vickie) of Vermilion , and Gary (Kathy) of Elyria , 15 grandchildren , 5 great-grandchildren , sister-in-laws Lynn Lowery , Dottie Maltarich , Margie Lowery and Vivian Lowery. He was preceded in death by his parents Elton and Mary (nee Chaplar) , sisters Shirley McClure , Diane Lowery , brothers Donald , Robert , Daniel , and David. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Tuesday January 12, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
