Wilbur G. "Bill" Kitson Jr., 95, of Elyria passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky following a lengthy illness. He was born November 27, 1922 in Rocky River and was a graduate of Rocky River High School. Bill proudly served his Country in the Navy Armed Guard. He was a self employed carpenter. Bill was a member of American Legion and VFW post # 1079 both in Elyria. He enjoyed golfing, bowling , woodworking (Master Craftsman), camping and loved dogs. Survivors include his daughters Peggy (Terry) Callahan of Elyria, Nancy (Matthew) McGuire of LaGrange; son Robert of Elyria; grandchildren Laurie (Brian) Vavzincak, Doug (Faith) Kitson, Karen (Brian) Winningham, Michelle (Chet) McLaughlin, Denise (Ron) Phillips; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Margaret (nee Neate); sister Laverne Ray; brothers Don Kitson, Robert Lapp. Family will receive friends 11 AM until time of service at 12 Noon Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
