Wayne L. Queen, 78, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born on March 31, 1946 in Elyria and was a 1964 graduate of Elyria High School and graduate of Oberlin Business College. He worked as a meter reader for the City of Elyria for many years. He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling, and was involved with Little League North. He was a very caring man who loved nature and animals. Wayne was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Judy (nee: Todd); cousins, Kandee (Michael) Ehrke Koleski, Tim (Judy) Ehrke; niece, Amanda (Brad) Paxton and great-niece, Morgan Baatz. He is preceded in death by his parents. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria.
