Wayne R. Muhlheim 92, of Olmsted Falls (formerly of Elyria) passed away Saturday September 6, 2014. He was born June 2, 1922 in Somerdale, Ohio. Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was an Elyria High School guidance counselor, Vice Principal at Westlake High School, and Principal at Columbia High School until his retirement. Wayne was respected and beloved by students and colleagues. Wayne was a member of The Elyria SDA Church where he sang and performed. He was Choir Director for Rocky River Presbyterian Church, and performed in various musicals and chorus groups, an in a German restaurant. He enjoyed travel through the United States and Europe with his wife. Wayne care for his wife while she was ill, and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and church family. Survivors include two daughters; Susan A. Pappas (William) of North Ridgeville, Laurie E. Brown (Payton) of San Antonio, TX, two sons; Mark W. Muhlheim of Richfield, OH, and Michael D. Muhlheim (Michele) of Knoxville, TN. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years; Dottie (nee: Benning), a daughter; Heidi A. Muhlheim, and his parents; Clarence F. and Melba (nee: Holman) Muhlheim. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon where V.F.W. Post 1079 will provide full military honors.
