Walter A. Siwierka 96, of Elyria passed away Friday May 11, 2018 at Adult Day Care in Avon Lake following a long illness. He was born May 15, 1921 in Standard, PA. Walter served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; and retired from Lear-Siegler Co. in Elyria following thirty years of service as a Lead Man. Walter moved to Spartanburg, SC. in 1988 and returned to Elyria in 2015. He was a member of St. Agnes Church. Survivors include two daughters; Joanne Henry (John) of Lorain, Walene Lowthier (Gene) of Princeton, TX, a son; Walter Siwierka (Jim McDaniel) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, a brother; Thaddeus of Sugarland, TX. Walter was preceded in death by a former wife; Anne in 2003, and two wives; Frances in 1966, and Grace in 2008, a daughter; Lenny Sue Wilson, his parents; Joseph Jacob and Nellie Agnes (nee: Brayo), two sisters; Alice Kulzynski, Rose Wojdyla, six brothers; Joseph, John, Frank, Stanley, Leonard, Raymond. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday May 17, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where closing prayers will be at 9:30 AM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday May 18, 2018 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Reverend Father Albert Veigas, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where V.F.W. Post 1079 will provide full military honors. Memorial contributions in Walter's memory can be sent to St. Agnes Church.
