Virginia P. Sump (nee: Moran) 95, of Avon passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a long illness. She was born September 27, 1917 in Cleveland. Virginia was a member of St. Mary Church in Elyria, and the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, and reading. Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and pets. Survivors include two daughters; Judith Whidden of Avon, Virginia Schindler (Greg) of Avon, a son; Edward James Sump (Irene) of Elyria, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; Lloyd Sump, a son; David, a great granddaughter; Kiersten Sump, her parents; Francis and Pearl (nee: Stewart) Moran, a sister; Vivian Clark, and a brother; Francis Moran. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 Noon Saturday November 3, 2012 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria where the family will receive friends in The Fr. Joseph Weigand Room from 11:00 AM until the time of Mass. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Virginia's memory can be sent to the Elyria Catholic High School Endowment Fund 725 Gulf Rd. Elyria, OH 44035.
