Obituary

Virginia K. Papay, (nee-Plato), 85, of Elyria passed away Sunday March 8, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Westlake following a long illness. She was born December 9, 1929 in Lorain and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Virginia was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria where she sang in choir. She was also a past president of FAMI (Family Alliance for the Mentally Ill) and was lovingly devoted to her family. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Frank; daughters, Linda (Bob) Seman and Judy (Tim) Otten; sons, Frank Papay M.D., James Papay and Anthony (Kelly) Papay; grandchildren, Jessica, Kurt, Olivia, Anthony, Francis and Brody. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry, sisters, Louise Fenik, Helen Lament, Esther Kulasa, Ann Drabek and Florence Osipov, and brothers, Frank, Leo and Richard Plato. The family will receive friends on Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday March 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). The Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions can be made to Crossroads Hospice 9775 Rockside Rd. Suite 270 Valley View, OH. 44125.
