Virginia M. Norris, (nee-Stegman), 97, of Avon Lake passed away Wednesday March 20, 2019 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake. She was born September 25, 1921 in North Olmsted and grew up in Eaton Township, graduating from Eaton High School in 1940. Soon after married and lived in LaGrange for 7 years and then moved to Elyria where she lived for 60 years, then moved to Main Street Care Center in 2017. She showed so much love and pride in her family and also enjoyed being a great homemaker and planning many family functions through the years. She was a member of the Elyria United Methodist Church where she was awarded the 50 year membership pin and also served as a Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Ann (Thomas) Fowkes and Vera Ann (Robert) Schlenbaker; sons, Paul Lester (Karen) Norris and Darryl Stegman (Debbie) Norris; grandchildren, Dee (Jack) McKlveen, Brad Fowkes, Kim (Jim) Chappell, Chris (Lorian) Norris, Drew (Sonya) Norris, Nate Norris, Tyler (Lauren) Schlenbaker and Keri Goad; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester P. Norris in 1996, parents, George and Vera (nee-Mollison) Stegman, sister, Doris Benton and great-grandson, Matthew R. McKlveen. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday March 27, 2019 in the funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Manner will Officiate. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp..
