Virginia A. Holcomb (nee Nelson) 90 of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 18,2016 at her residence. She was born June 16 , 1925 in Penrose, Utah to Lars and Josephine Nelson. Virginia attended elementary school in Corin,Utah and 3 years of High School at Box Elder High School , she finished High School at Elyria High, after graduating she worked at Niles Steel. Later employment included , Western Automatic , All American , and Elyria Spring and Specialty. Virginia was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Elyria. She enjoyed cooking , crosswords and watching the Indians with her husband John. Survivors include her loving husband of 16 years John H. , daughters Jennifer (Douglas) Affolter of Wooster , Sherry (Larry) Humberson of Sharon Township , grandchildren Christopher Hubbell of Myrtle Beach, S.C. , Kenny (Julie) Humberson of Wadsworth , Stephanie (Nacer) Itibrout , Bill (Jesse) Holcomb of Naples, Fla., other grandchildren , great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Jason , parents Lars and Josephine (nee Schaer) , sons Eugene Jason , Bill Holcomb Sr. , sister Sentella Shaw , brother-in-law Alva Shaw. Family will receive friends from 10AM until time of service at 11AM Monday May 23, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
