Virginia Leigh "Ginny" Roig

Virginia Leigh “Ginny” Roig, 89, of Elyria, Ohio, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 7, 2026. Ginny is dancing with Jesus now, at home at last with the One she loved above all else.

She was born Virginia Leigh Grace Townsend on December 23, 1936, in Charleston, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Eugene Kiser and Delbert Roig; by her daughter, Sheila Kiser; and by her grandson, Joshua, son of Theresa Berry.

Ginny is survived by her children, Theresa Berry and Michael Kiser, and by a grandson, Daniel Ferren, whom she lovingly adopted as her own. She is also survived by her stepson, Delbert Roig, and her stepchildren, Richard Fauth and Darren Fauth. She leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Ginny spent her years in Elyria working at various jobs, but her true love was found elsewhere — in church, in Bible studies, and among friends, learning about God. Through her church family, she poured herself into the lives of hundreds of friends, teaching and mentoring women for decades with a warmth and devotion that shaped generations of faith. She counted her church family among her greatest treasures, and they, in turn, loved her dearly.

She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her generous heart, and the countless lives she touched through her teaching and her love. Though her family and friends grieve her passing, they take comfort in knowing she is home, rejoicing in the presence of the Savior she served so faithfully.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 12, 2026 At Cross Community Church 525 N. Abbe Rd. Elyria, Ohio where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
