Viola Jean Hahn (nee Von Duyke), 99, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange. She was born on December 15, 1924 to the late Karl and Viola (nee Saussler) Von Duyke. She was a graduate of Elyria High School Class of 1942. She had a long career as an executive secretary with Bendix in Elyria. She met her husband, Harvey (Jim) E. Hahn Jr. and they were married for 64 years. They traveled extensively throughout the United States making many friends along the way. They wintered in Arizona before settling down in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She made her way back to Elyria in 2012. Jean was very involved with the Order of the Eastern Star and served as a past Worthy Matron. She was very creative and enjoyed woodcarving, bowling, painting, stamping, dancing, reading, crossword puzzles and was an excellent seamstress. She was very involved in her kids' activities and was always on the go attending all events. She never missed one. Jean is survived by her daughters Ragna Hahn and Terri (Mark) Lenzer. Grandchildren Karl and Tabitha Hall and Ashley (Austin) Smith. Four great grandchildren. Sister Norma Anderson and brothers Martin and Tom (Danny Sue deceased) Von Duyke. Sister in law Catherine (Phil deceased) Hahn and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2012, her sister Betty Brown in March of 2024 and her parents.
