Vincent P. DeFilippo, 89, of Vermilion passed away Thursday January 12, 2017 at his home. He was born June 29, 1927 in California, PA.. Vincent retired from Mercy Medical Center in Lorain where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, was an accomplished musician, playing drums in various bands and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Lorena (nee-Arnal); daughters, Debra (Arthur) Deremiah, Jerri (Kevin) Kauffman, Vicki (Charles) Stapleton and Nadine (Christopher) Kallas; sons, Leonard (Cindy) DeFilippo and Michael (Amy) DeFilippo; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, John DeFilippo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Emerson. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday January 18, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Frank P. Kosem, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
