Victoria J. Kaczmarczyk , formerly of Elyria passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday March 4, 2017 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts. Vicky was born January 20, 1921 in Canton, Ohio. After graduating from Canton McKinley High School, Vicky became a cosmetologist and utilized these skills throughout her life. Vicky met her late husband Harry, got married in 1950 and moved to Elyria shortly afterwards, where she resided for over 60 years. Vicky was an active member of the United Polish Club, Holy Cross Church and later St. Agnes Church. Whenever there was a church function, Vicky was always helping in the kitchen, as she loved to cook and bake. Vicky also was an avid gardener, had a tremendous green thumb and generally loved the outdoors. Vicky especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Melissa, the joy of her life, and later her great-granddaughter Morgan. She accompanied Melissa, her husband Bill, and Morgan on many trips, including Hawaii, Chile, and the Caribbean. One trip that she especially enjoyed was a Mediterranean cruise they all went on in 2012. Vicky will be sadly missed by her daughter, Vickie L. Davis of Savannah, Texas; granddaughter Melissa Davis Hartranft and her husband, Bill Hartranft and great-granddaughter, Morgan Hartranft, all of Newton, Massachusetts; her niece Marcia Detwiler (Ted) of Canton, Ohio; her nephew Joe (Dora) of Shallotte, North Carolina. Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kaczmarczyk, her parents and siblings. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday March 9, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
