Veronica Brattoli, (nee-Puhala), 97, of Elyria passed away Sunday June 26, 2016 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a long illness. She was born April 11, 1919 in Lorain and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Veronica retired as an inspector at Elyria Manufacturing, was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton, a former member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed bowling, making candy and attending her grandchildren's activities. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Lance) Nixon and Mary (Doug) Whitesel both of Grafton and Beverly Brattoli of Elyria; son, Daniel (Diana) Brattoli of Grafton; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Metez of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel in 2011, sisters, Josephine Turnage and Caroline Skolnicki and brothers, Frank and Steve Puhaly. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday June 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
