Tracie Gene
Schneider
February 15, 1957 – May 6, 2026
Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, Inc.
4:00 - 7:00 pm (Eastern time)
Tracie Gene Schneider, age 69, of Elyria, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2026, after a year‑long illness. Born on February 15, 1957, Tracie will be remembered for the deep love she had for her family and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.
She was a devoted mother to her five children — Jason, Angela, Adam, Stephanie, and Nathan — and a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Caitlin, Dennison, Haley, Eric, Aeralyn, Chloe, and Oakley. She was also the great‑grandmother of ten and the great‑great‑grandmother of one, all of whom she adored deeply. Nothing brought Tracie more joy than time spent with all her grandbabies; those moments were her greatest treasures.
Some of her favorite things to do were going thrift shopping — she could never pass up the thrill of hunting for something great. She also had a true love for her dogs, Dahlia and Willow, who brought her comfort and companionship. She loved sewing, baking, and gardening, hobbies that let her create, nurture, and share pieces of herself with the people she loved. Tracie also had a huge love for Raggedy Ann and Andy, a joy she shared with everyone she knew.
She is survived by her brother, Dan, who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her son, Nathan.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends. Yet her love, strength, and the memories she created will remain with them always.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories at Laubenthal‑Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
