Timothy (Tim/Timo) A. Weitzel, 62, of Vermilion passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2025. Tim is survived by his three children, his brothers, Robert E. (Bob), Dave, Chuck and Mark, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that became family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Eva Marie (nee-Masten) Weitzel and his trusty partner in crime Sargeant (aka Sarge the dog).

Tim graduated from Elyria Catholic High School and, despite many of the challenges he faced, went on to live a fun filled life that had many joyful moments. Tim enjoyed all sports, but most of all soccer. Coaching soccer provided a opportunity for him to share his love of sport and to mold the young lives of many athletes.

Tim loved to travel and was open to all types of adventures, which provided many exciting and crazy stories for him to share. While those close to him could recite those stories word for word, Tim was always there for those that needed him and was always available to lend an ear.

Tim had the ability to be a constant, positive presence in a world of chaos. He was able to bring joy to so many people through his amazing sense of humor and his kind personality. Tim is loved by people in different communities and will truly be missed.

Family and friends are invited to say their goodbyes from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with family members speaking from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday August 2, 2025, at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Donation can be made to Multiple Breed Rescue instead of flowers.
