Timothy J. Laubenthal, 51, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and formerly of Elyria passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 24, 2018 at his parents home in Elyria, following a courageous six month battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1966 in Elyria, and had been a resident of Ft. Lauderdale for the past 20 years. Tim was a 1984 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and a 1988 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was employed by Cerner Corporation for 20 years as a Senior Consultant. Tim was an avid U.K. and Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed attending Kentucky basketball games and spending time with his family in Elyria. He is survived by his parents, John P. and M. Ann (nee - Randall); brothers, Tom (Cathy) of LaGrange, Jeff and John both of Elyria; niece Emily and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Arnold and Irene (nee-Alten) Laubenthal and Maternal Grandparents, Charles and B. Ann (nee- Mincy) Randall. Memorial Mass will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). The Rev. Allan R. Laubenthal, Tim's Uncle will be the Celebrant. The family will receive friends immediately following Mass from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM in St. Mary's Hall. Burial will be private.
