Thomas Joseph "Tommy" Kess Jr., 25, of Westlake, OH (formerly of Englewood, FL) passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2015. Tommy is the cherished and adored son of Thomas Joseph Kess Sr. of Westlake and Sandra Marie Kess (Bohnert) of Englewood, FL, and the loving and compassionate brother of Taylor Jonathon Kess of Oklahoma City, OK and Alexa Nicole Kess of Westlake. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Laurene Najdl of Englewood, FL and stepmother Lisa Kess. Tommy leaves loving memories to be cherished by his aunts and uncles: David, James, Robert (Kathy) and Helene Kess; Mary Ruth Gourley; Suzie Lapos (Frank); Lisa Adams (Stephen); Laurie Baksa (Brian); Gina Villano; and Renee Robertson. He was treasured by his cousins: Lisa (Happy); Craig; Jessica; Sarah; Bobby; Robbie; Alex; Lauren; Jessica; Michael; Olivia; Lauren; Tommy; Marcus and Monica and his extended family at Angelo's Pizza. He was loved by his dogs, Toby and Koko. Tommy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louis and Ann Ruth Kess, his maternal grandfather, James Najdl, and his cousin Ricky. Tommy was born October 7, 1989, in Westlake. He was a graduate of The Out of Door Academy in Sarasota, FL and was attending The University of Miami (Florida) with aspirations of practicing law. Tommy was the Vice President of the family business, Angelo's Pizza, in Lakewood, OH. He was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. His laugh was infectious; he enjoyed music, dancing, and reading crime novels. He was proud to be a native Clevelander. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at The Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of Tommy's life will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday immediately following calling hours at the church. Rev. Fr. Neil G. Kookoothe, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made in Tommy's memory to the Tommy Kess Memorial Fund established at Key Bank, 26380 Great Northern Shop Center, North Olmstead, OH 44070.
