IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas B.
"Tom" Thomasson
February 15, 1961 – November 1, 2025
Thomas "Tom" Thomasson, age 64, of Elyria (most recently of Cuyahoga Falls), passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on November 1, 2025.
Tom was born on February 15, 1961, in Elyria, Ohio, to William Edward Thomasson Jr. and Pamela (Krock) Thomasson. He spent most of his life in Elyria, where his love for the outdoors began early. As a Boy Scout, he especially enjoyed camping trips, and his lifelong passion for fishing started when he was young.
A proud 1979 graduate of Elyria High School, Tom played drums in the Elyria High Pioneer Marching Band. He began his career working alongside his father at Thomasson's Potato Chips, where he remained until 1991. He later built a successful career in shipping and receiving.
In 1983, Tom married the love of his life, Becky (Williams). Together, they raised three children on Oxford Avenue in Elyria—a home filled with countless memories. This year, Tom and Becky celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary, a testament to their unwavering love and partnership.
Tom took great pride in his yard and landscaping, spending hours ensuring it looked worthy of a magazine cover. On weekends, he could be found coaching his children's sports teams or traveling across Ohio for parades with the Deputies Baton and Drum Corps. Tom always showed up for his kids and made sure they knew how deeply they were loved.
Outside of work and family, Tom loved fishing and deeply enjoyed golfing with his sons and in his league. A die-hard Cleveland sports fan, he even worked security at the old Browns Stadium. In recent years, he discovered a passion for woodworking. Tom's dance moves were unmatched and he was always the life of any party.
Above all, Tom adored his grandchildren—Everett, William, Jack, and Andrew. Whether hiking, cheering at their sports games, or celebrating birthdays, "Papa" cherished every moment with his boys.
Most importantly, Tom was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. A member of Redemption Chapel in Stow, he publicly proclaimed his faith when he was baptized alongside his daughter in 2023. He loved serving his church community as a door greeter and donut volunteer and treasured the fellowship of his weekly Bible study group.
Tom is survived by his wife, Becky; children, Travis (Maggie), Amber Hardwick (Dave), and Tyler; brother, Ted (Kelly); sister, Tamara (Gerald) Lattimer; and grandchildren Everett, William, Jack, and Andrew. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pamela and William, and brothers, Bill and Jerry.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire hospice care team at Akron General Cleveland Clinic for the care they provided to both Tom and the family.
