Thomas E. "Tom" Swiger, 75, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday November 12, 2013 at his home following a long illness. He was born July 18, 1938 in Clarksburg, WV. And was a lifelong Lorain County resident. Tom worked as a rolloff driver for Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI), retiring in 2000. He was very proud of the fact that he received his GED Certificate from the Lorain County Joint Vocational School in 2011. Tom was a member of the Teamsters Local 571 and enjoyed reading, working puzzles and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Jeannine, (nee-Coghlan); daughters, Tina (Robert) Hardman of Wellington, Lisa Michell of Elyria and Danielle Swiger of LaGrange; grandchildren, Jimmy, Crystal and Raven; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Wagner of Grafton and Carolle Wottring of Sharpsburg, GA.. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Wangerien, Shirley Jantz and Ramona Williams, and a brother, Phillip Swiger. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 17, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Hinkson-Hysell V.F.W. Post 3341 783 Huron St., Grafton for a Celebration of Toms Life. Burial will be private.
