Thomas W. Slater Sr. 58, of Elyria passed away Friday March 29, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake following a long illness. He was born April 28, 1954 in Indiana County, PA. Tom was a self employed electrician. He loved riding his motorcycle, music, shooting pool, and cherished spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a "Jack of all Trades". Survivors include his loving wife; Mary "Peanut" Sorton, a daughter; Bridget R. Slater (Jack) of North Ridgeville, two sons; Thomas W. Slater Jr. (Michelle) of North Ridgeville, Bill J. Slater (Crystal) of North Ridgeville. Additional survivors include; fourteen grandchildren, two brothers; Bud Slater (Annie) of Berea, Tim Slater (Marilyn) of New London. Tom was preceded in death by twin infant sons, and his parents; John and Mildred (nee: Deyarmin) Slater.
