Thomas Eugene Schoen 87, of Elyria passed away peacefully Thursday March 7, 2024 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.  He was born July 21, 1936 in Sandusky, Ohio.  Thomas was a high school graduate of Brunnerdale Seminary. He retired from The Ford Motor Company in 1999 following thirty-one years of service working security.  He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and was very devoted to his Catholic faith. Thomas had a great sense of humor and brought so much love and fun to every gathering.  He treasured spending time with his family, leaving them with many wonderful memories.  He will be missed beyond measure. He adored his grandchildren, attended all their sporting events and activities, and took a huge interest in all their lives.  He was also an avid Cleveland sports fan.  Survivors include a daughter; Lisa A. Linden (Charles) of Lorain, two sons; Thomas D. Schoen of Lorain, Todd D. Schoen of Lakeland, FL, and daughter in law, Debra A. Schoen of Elyria.  Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Christopher (Kristan), Steven (Cali), Maggie, Brianna Cunningham (Brett), Brittany Dusky (Kyle), Lindsay Orlando (Marco), Alexia Schoen-Smith (Chandler), Alyssa, Meghan, Rebecca, great grandchildren, Landon, William, Dean, Max, Cara, and Santino, a sister, Helen Griffin of Marblehead and a brother, James of Bellevue. Thomas was preceded in death by his cherished wife of fifty-six years; Greta Jo (nee: Etherington), a son; Timothy Schoen, his parents; Norbert and Sarah (nee: Gerber) Schoen, and two brothers; Norris and Franklin. The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Wednesday March 13, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Elyria (440) 322-4626 where closing prayers will be recited at 9:15 AM on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday March 14, 2024 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church 41295 North Ridge Rd, Elyria.  The Reverend Father Neil G.
