Thomas George Meyers 76 of Sheffield Lake entered into eternal rest on Tuesday November 3, 2015. He was born June 15 , 1939 in Rocky River . Thomas attended Rocky River High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1961. He retired from USG (formerly Donn Products) , after working as a machine operator for 40 years. In his younger years , Thomas took on several jobs to support his family , including being a milk man and bag boy at Fazio's. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his large family and bowling with his brothers. His love for the outdoors included hobbies such as fishing , camping , golfing , gardening , and bird watching. Thomas will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband , father , brother, uncle , and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Maurine Sue (nee Ward) , children Rhonda S. Meyers of Elyria , Dale P. Meyers of Sheffield Lake , Tracey R. (Steve) Mudrak of Elyria , Todd W. Meyers of Elyria , Aimee N. (Jim) Vichell of Parma , Mark A. (Sandy) Meyers of Sheffield Village , grandchildren Tiffany (David) , Cierra (Nick) , Lindsay , Nicholas , Adam and Marissa , along with 4 great-grandchildren , siblings Jim (Carol) , Larry (Deborah) , Anthony (Beverly) , Nancy (Wolf) along with several nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Anthony G. and Viola (nee Andree) , brother Bobby Meyers along with several aunts and uncles. Family will receive friends Friday November 6, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626 , where services will be held at 7 PM, with full military honors provided by VFW post #1079. Rev. Chuck Behrens chaplain of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate. Burial Private.
