Thomas C. Leister, 56, of Elyria passed away Wednesday April 30, 2014 at his home following a brief illness. He was born June 13, 1957 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Tom was formerly employed at Gross Plumbing as a service manager for many years. He was a1975 Elyria High School graduate and enjoyed listening to music. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Fred and Joan Leister of Pittsburgh, PA.; sister, Barbara (Daniel) Shaw of Eaton Township; brother, Michael Leister of Elyria; niece, Kelly Shaw; nephew, Kevin (Christina) Shaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Leister in 2012. The family will receive friends on Monday May 5, 2014, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Chuck Behrens will Officiate. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
