Thomas A. Kelly Jr., D.D.S., 92, of Elyria passed away Saturday at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness. He was born April 13, 1919 in Elyria and spent most of his life in Dayton, returning to Elyria in 2007. Dr. Kelly practiced dentistry in Dayton for 43 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and served in the United States Navy during W.W. II. Survivors include his daughters, Colette Kelly (husband, Dennis Madden) of New River, AZ., Linda (Lawrence) Cherney of Toronto, Canada, and Carol (Eric) Brun of Omaha, NE.; grandchildren, Max, Niomi and Jacob; sisters, Mary Daly and Jean (John) Tierney both of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (nee-Hathaway), and a brother, John Kelly. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be Thursday at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association P.O.
