Thomas E. Kaminski Sr., 75, of Elyria passed away Friday October 28, 2016 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 1, 1941 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Tom worked at the former A &P Grocery Stores for many years, retiring as a Dairy Manager. A 1958 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, Tom was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Avon V.F.W. Post 7035, Huron Eagles Club, Elyria Moose Lodge #778, AMVETS Post 32 and Union Local #880. He played and managed many softball teams over the years and played in 61 consecutive Elyria United Polish Club Mud Bowl games. He and his late wife enjoyed spending time on Kelley's Island. Survivors include his sons, Jeff Kaminski and David Kaminski; grandchildren, Erika, Whitney and Kolbie; sisters, Barbara Kaminski and Carolyn (James) Morey; brother, Frank (Veronica) Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his wife Gweneth "Becky" on October 28, 2009 a son, Thomas E. Jr. and his parents, Frank and Florence. The family will receive friends Tuesday 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Matthew's Lending Library 15528 Madison Ave. Lakewood, OH. 44107.
