Thomas Anthony Jezewski, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28th at O'Neill Hospice in Bay Village with his family by his side. Born July 21, 1938 and raised in Elyria, Ohio. Tom attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1956. He was a member of Holy Cross Church, where he served as an altar boy. After graduation, Tom proudly served three years in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Corporal before his honorable discharge then attended the University of Dayton. He went on to build a long and dedicated career as a supervisor at Timms Spring Company (later Michigan Spring), where he worked for more than 39 years. Tom was a modest, faith-filled man and a hard-working, loving, and devoted husband and father. He cared very deeply about others. Growing up he learned the importance of family and friendships, appreciation of hard work, love of nature, and the power of faith. Tom was a devoted catholic and member of St. Mary Church in Elyria, Ohio where he assisted as an adult server, Eucharistic Minister, and volunteer with the Hot Meals program. In addition, he was a Big Brother mentor, coached CYO boys' basketball for 35 years, was a member of Knights of Columbus and the United Polish Club. In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed biking, swimming, hiking, golfing, tending to his garden and sometimes just sitting in the sun. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV and was dedicated to all Cleveland sports teams. Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Barbara (Daly) Jezewski; his children, Deborah (Steven) Gilchrist and David (Bettyann Bruewer) Jezewski; and four beloved grandchildren: Lindsay, Clara, Anna, and Sam. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Stella (Vavzincak) Jezewski, and his four older brothers, Lawrence, Anthony Jr., and John of Elyria, Ohio, and Joseph from Dothan, Alabama. Family will receive friends at Laubenthal Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria, OH on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave, Elyria, OH. Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, pastor will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria where full military honors will be rendered.
